My attention was immediately taken by the image chosen for the title page, seen above. After reading the introduction I was taken into the story. A ten year long architectural journey to find a box filled with the writings of a demon. The supernatural has always grabbed my interest, thus I could not pass up the opportunity to delve into it. Once I moved on from the introduction into the heart of the storybook I was even more curious as to the fate of Ravana. He was the god conqueror. How could he have fallen out of existence? The author did an excellent job at choosing essential sections of the diary to portray Ravana's personality and how it led to his downfall. The author also explored his own subjective views of Ravana, which I found interesting to compare and contrast my views to. The overall layout of the page was ascetically pleasing and easy to navigate.
Although the title is not encapsulating, I listen to Delilah's radio station from time to time, therefore I had to at the minimum, read the introduction. After reading the introduction I realized the story was another take on the Ravana story. The introduction made me want to keep reading, I had to know what the conversation between Sita and Rama would be. The story told the post victory over Ravana as opposed to the main controversy in the story, that Ravana wanted to obtain Sita over anything else in the world. The author took an incredibly interesting approach presenting this story, which made it a more refreshing read. The overall layout of the page could have been better. The author could have utilized more colors, but the overall navigability was easy to use.
As one of my favorite hobbies is visiting mountains and climbing to the top, this storybook immediately grabbed my attention. The introduction laid out the foundation of the entirety of the story, which made it more understandable even though there is a large amount of information packed into one read. The large amount of information was presented in such a way that it was comprehensible. Although the information was well presented and was incredibly interesting, I feel as though four groups was slightly overkill as I was only expecting three groups then some sort of concluding remarks from the teacher. The layout and the use of pictures made the long group presentations engaging and less intimidating, making it easier to become engaged in the read as opposed to forcing oneself to read.
