The Bridge Author: Donald A. Mackenzie
-Rama asked ocean god for help
-he didn't answer so Rama shot celestial weapons at the ocean until they responded
-said they could not help due to ancient law, but to ask Nala, the vanar chief, for help
-Nala built a great bridge for Rama

Rama Attacks Author: Sister Nivedita
-Rama sieges Lanka
-Everyone tells Ravana to surrender Sita, but he is to stubborn
-He tries to trick Sita with a false Rama head and bow
-they disappear when Ravana is called to battle

Indrajit
-son of Ravana
-Beat down Rama and lakshmana
-the monkeys were terrified of the rakshasa'a fighting method
-Then Garuda came with a magical herb to revive Rama and his brother
-they began to again seize the gates of Lanka

Kumbhakarna Author: Donald A. Mackenzie
-The greatest of demons, who once defeated Indra, put to sleep for 6 months and awoke for 1 day eat
-He devoured many monkeys, beat Hanuman and seized Sugriva
-Rama shot his head off with an arrow

Hanuman and the Mountain Author: Sister Nivedita
-Hanuman was tasked with gathering the four healing herbs from the himalaya
-He went and got impatient and brought the whole mountain
-This revived all the defeated monkeys, but the rakshasas were thrown into the ocean so they stayed dead
-He then put the mountain back

Lakshmana and Indrajit Author: Romesh Dutt
-Lakshmana killed Indrajit

Ravana's Lament Author: Donald A. Mackenzie
-Ravana cried
-Then he tried to kill Sita, but the she-demons hid her because killing a woman is bad
-He then went out to fight

Ravana and Lakshmana
-Ravana went out and killed Lakshmana
-They brought him back to life with the herbs
-The monkeys attacked the capitol and intercepted a sacrifice Ravana wanted to offer

Indra's Chariot Author: Romesh Dutt
-Indra gave Rama his cool chariot

Battle of Rama and Ravana
-Rama sung the sun Hymn to worship the sun god
-every arrow Ram shot at Ravana, even if it beheaded him, Ravana would grow a new one

Ravana's Death Author: Donald A. Mackenzie
-Rama shot Ravana in the heart with a weapon of Brahma, killing him
-Vibhishana became the king of Lanka, Ravana's brother

Mandodari's Lament Author: Romesh Dutt
-They, Rama, gave Ravana a funeral and his wife, Mandodari was sad, and so were his other wives

Sita and Rama Author: Sister Nivedita
-Rama doesn't want Siat back as she was with Ravana
-He offers her to Lakshmana, Bharata, Sugriva, or Vibhishana

Sita Tested
-Sita tries to kill herself by fire
-Brahma tells of Rama's Vishnu avatar and Sita's Lakshmi avatar
-The fire returns Sita and says she is not stained
-Rama take her back

Pushpaka Author: Romesh Dutt
-Rama and Sita go to Ayodhya

Rama and Bharata
-Rama's exile was over
-He got his sandals back
-He became king
-also Hanuman came with them

Rama Crowned King
-Everyone, even the Gods, celebrated Rama's crowning as king

Valmiki's Hermitage Author: Donald A. Mackenzie
-Sita is banished to this hermitage because the people thought she was not loyal
-She gave birth to two sons, Kusha and Lava
-They capture Rama's sacrificial horse
-They defeated Lakshmana and army
-Then Rama came to fight them and learned they were Sita's sons

Sita Departs Author: Sister Nivedita
-Sita was called back to pronounce her purity before council
-Rama learns of his sons
-Sita is brought up to heaven as she is pure of heart
-Rama is sad, but is told he will see her again in heaven

Rama Departs
-Rama's brother had already returned to Vishnu
-It's been 11,000 years the amount of time Rama was meant to rule
-Rama grants life to all those who helped him
-Rama returns to heaven as Vishnu
